KOLKATA: Every day Himanshu Chakrawarti's iPhone gets flooded with SMSes and calls with personal requests for speedy delivery of iPhone 5S. But the CEO of India's largest cellphone retail chain The MobileStore is unable to pay heed because he says the waiting list for Apple's top-end smartphone is more than twice the number he has sold till now.
Two senior trade partners of Apple in India said the company has not been able to keep pace with iPhone 5S demand in India since the company is sending more stock of its best-seller to western markets ahead of the year-end Christmas shopping season starting with Black Friday on November 29.
"There is acute shortage of supply of iPhone 5S in India, with consignments coming mostly once a week and that too only 2,000-3,000 units at best," one of them said.
Encouraged by the popularity of the iPhone 5S in India, Apple is targeting Rs 1,000 crore from sales of the handset this quarter, which will make it one of the most successful smartphone launches in the country and in line with that of devices such as the Galaxy S series of phones made by market leader Samsung.

The Good

The Bad
Apple Maps feels unfinished and buggy; Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models.

Camera is clear and better than iPhone 5. Amazing features like Slow motion, Finger Touch, Touch to buy products online. Simply incredible! Not a Apple Fanboy, but iPhone 5s has resolved battery issue to a good level. Now I can use it without charging for like more than a day when I use it to maximum level! double the worse!!!
ordered an iPhone 5s space grey, phone was defected . lock button was producing rattling sound and button too loose. i complained and they suggested to go to apple store which is very far from my place nearly 250 km. they agreed for replacement of phone. and i got the replaced phone. now that replaced phone is worse than previous.
produces rattling sound , speakerphone produces scratching sound which irritating while speaking and battery drain early than previous.
worst experience ever.
flipkart, you have lost a very regular customer.
i recommend to buy from apple store, by paying 53.5k rather than buying defected one.
dint expect such a horrible service from WS retailer and flipkart.

Build Quality: Unmatched (The closest competitor would be the HTC One)
Display:
Many people complain that this 4-inch retina display offering is joke when compared to what other manufacturers offer these days. But this is not a phablet; it's comparatively much easier to use with one hand and the color tone of the 5S is much better than the overly saturated displays on the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3.
Processor and RAM:
The 5S has only 1GB RAM and a Dual Core processor which seemingly pales in comparison to what other flagship phones have to offer. But if you are a serious buyer, don't be fooled by these specs because the iPhone 5S is actually "The Fastest Phone ever tested" till date. The reason why the iPhone 5S blows away the competition is because it's processor is made specifically for the phone and it utilizes and squeezes processing power in the most efficient way unlike other phones whose processors are generic and used across various manufacturers without really utilizing available power to it's full extent.
Camera:
The 5S has a excellent camera but it is not the best in the market.
Call Quality:
Normal calls are just as good as any other phone. But not many people are aware of the new facetime audio HD calling feature across iOS 7 users, the clarity is almost too much! You can even hear a person swallow or smack his/her lips. Little too intimate if you ask me :-)
Special Feature:
Fingerprint Scan and unlock your phone. People may argue over the pros and cons of such a feature but I would personally prefer such a feature which I will certainly make use of; instead of an almost useless fancy feature which I rarely use. (Eg: Touch to share)
Price:
Considering that the manufacturing cost of the iPhone 5S is just one dollar more than that of the iPhone 5 whose manufacturing cost is around INR 13,000; I would have liked the 5S to be priced at 40,000. It is without doubt EXPENSIVE!
